Communication and Collaboration

Unit of Inquiry time was combined with building structures, communication skills, and collaboration skills. We had a couple different activities where students had to use communication skills to build structures.

The first activity was the Lego challenge!  The class broke into pairs; each pair had a set of lego pieces. The partners sat back to back and one person built a structure. Then, they had to give detailed instructions on how to build it without letting the other person seeing the final product.

The second activity was a team challenge. Each group was given 15 paper cups. They had to work together to build a tall structure. The teams were not competing against each other as the goal of the activity was to make sure everyone was involved and we were listening to each other's ideas.

Please watch our slideshow and chat about our successes and struggles as a reflection at home.
